About this postcard

A paved stretch of the Dixie Highway runs north from Miami between tall palms and dense tropical growth, with a red-flowering hedge on the left and scattered clouds in a blue sky. The Dixie Highway was an early named auto route, promoted to bring Midwestern motorists to Florida, and by the mid-1920s Miami's land boom had made palm-lined drives part of the region's visitor image.
