About this postcard

The Dixie Motor Court and Restaurant stands at U.S. 301 and Florida 200 in Starke, a north Florida town and the Bradford County seat. A long row of white tourist cabins runs along the left side of the paved court, with a two-story white restaurant building on the right, its windows trimmed in red and set with flower boxes. A tall pine rises between the buildings, and a small sign at the left marks the motor court entrance. A wide paved road runs across the foreground. Motor courts like this offered separate cabins and a sit-down meal to auto travelers on U.S. 301, a main north-south route through Florida before the interstate highway system reshaped roadside travel.
