About this postcard
A bird's-eye view of a downtown St. Petersburg corner, with a tall white commercial building topped by a tower and blue awnings at street level. The red-brick Princess Martha Hotel stands at right, and the surrounding block includes the Suwannee Hotel, the Walgreen Building, a Kress 5-10-25 store, and the Post Office. St. Petersburg called itself "The Sunshine City" in the 1920s as it became a winter resort, and the Princess Martha, opened in 1924, was one of the city's grand hotels from the Florida land-boom years.
