An elevated view over downtown Montreal, with tight blocks of commercial buildings filling the middle distance, trees in the foreground, and the St. Lawrence River and waterfront beyond. By the 1930s Montreal was Canada's largest city and its principal port, and the downtown core around St. James Street held the country's leading banks and corporate head offices. The card's caption keeps the plain booster's phrasing typical of Canadian view cards of the period.
White border; linen texture.
No postmark, stamp, address, or message. Divided-back 'CARTE POSTALE / POST CARD' card with white border and linen-like texture; 'PRINTED IN CANADA' oval imprint at lower left; dealer pencil marks '#59' and '1-' at lower right.
