Easter Greeting, embossed pink flowers on a gold cross, circa 1910

Card type
Novelty

About this postcard

A deeply die-pressed relief card shows three pink trumpet-shaped blossoms with green leaves laid over a gold cross, the flower outlines picked out in dark glitter. The greeting "Easter Greeting" is printed in gold at the lower left. Such heavily embossed, glitter-accented greetings were a staple of the German and American Easter card trade in the early 20th century, when lilies and the cross served as standard symbols of resurrection.
