About this postcard
An Easter greeting built around a white cross rising from a spray of blue forget-me-nots, set within an ornate purple border and lettered "An Easter Greeting" at the bottom. The cross and forget-me-nots were familiar Easter motifs in the early 1900s, pairing the resurrection with remembrance. A mother sent the card to her son Artie with "fond love" and the wish for "a very Happy Easter." The greeting belongs to the era when holiday postcards were a quick, inexpensive way to keep family ties across town or across the country.
