About this postcard
An Easter greeting card shows a gold cross among white lilies and pink violets against a sunburst. The printed greeting reads "WELCOME EASTER TIDE" and follows with a verse that begins "On the third morn He rose again" and closes with an Alleluia. The cross and the Easter lily were standard resurrection symbols on early twentieth-century Easter cards, and the verse keeps the card's message on the risen Christ. The handwritten note on the back turns to practical matters, saying things are settled until fall, inviting the recipient to come up some Saturday, and mentioning Batavia.
