Easter greeting with hen, chicks, and colored eggs, Maconville, NJ, 1910

Card type
Lithograph

About this postcard

A brown hen stands beside a cluster of colored eggs and daisies, with four yellow chicks in the foreground and a farmhouse and trees behind. The printed greeting reads "Loving Easter Greetings." Easter prompted one of the heaviest exchanges of greeting cards of the year in the early 1900s, and publishers like Raphael Tuck & Sons issued barnyard and spring-flower designs in numbered series. This card carried a short wish from Elizabeth Tribit to Alice Dunn in Maconville, NJ, and was postmarked the day before Easter 1910.
