Three blue chicks march in a row across a bright red ground above the gold-script German greeting "Fröhliche Ostern" (Happy Easter). The card was mailed from Munich to Charlotte S. Hassett in Amesbury, Massachusetts, with Easter greetings signed Ella. In the early 1900s, German printers produced a large share of the illustrated postcards sold abroad, and Easter cards moved through the same mail as ordinary correspondence.
Embossed/debossed border frame; solid red ground; gold metallic-ink script; no white border; light surface wear and a faint mark at right.
Postmark: MÜNCHEN 19.3.07 6-7N (plus a separate U.S. receiving cancel "MAR 31 1907"). Divided-back German "Postkarte" with a 10 Pf. Deutsches Reich adhesive; embossed red Easter card (front) with green script; light edge/corner wear, small crease at right.
