A tinted view of Echo Bridge, a granite aqueduct arch spanning the Charles River at Newton Upper Falls, seen across still water with dense trees on both banks. The bridge was built in the 1870s by the Boston Water Works to carry the Sudbury River aqueduct across the river valley, and its single masonry arch is among the longest of its kind in the United States. The spot takes its name from the echo produced under the arch, a popular Victorian excursion destination.

All is well, we
think of you often,
and if we cannot
find time to write
many letters, always
remember, the distance
is never to great to
prevent, the sending
of loving thoughts.
