About this postcard

A quiet lake at the edge of Glen Park in Richmond, Indiana, with a small timber-and-stone bridge or dam at the far end and a dirt road curving along the right bank beneath tall trees. Glen Park was one of Richmond's early wooded pleasure grounds, and this view of its lake was typical of the scenic spots local photographers recorded for souvenir cards. The card was issued by Ellwood Morris & Co., a Richmond book, wall paper and art store, and printed in Germany, a common arrangement for small-town American publishers of the period.
