Egg Rock Light stands on a low rocky island in Nahant Bay, its tower flanked by the keeper's quarters and small outbuildings. The station was established in the 1850s to guide vessels into Lynn Harbor and remained a familiar landmark off the Lynn shore until it was discontinued in the early 1920s. The island is now a bird sanctuary.
