About this postcard
Night view of the illuminated electric fountain in Reservoir Park, Fort Wayne, Indiana, its jets lit in bands of red, yellow, green and blue and mirrored in the still basin below. A low, red-trimmed park building strung with lights stands at the left, with trees, a small pavilion and a rise of ground behind, all under a dark sky and a full moon. Colored-light fountains of this kind were popular civic showpieces in American parks in the early twentieth century, and Reservoir Park took its name from the city waterworks reservoir it surrounded.
