Embossed pink rose "Greetings from Home" card, Walton, New York, circa 1910

Card type
Novelty

About this postcard

A single large pink rose with a bud, green leaves and a blue ribbon bow fills the card, raised in deep die-pressed relief against a stippled, dotted background. The glitter-printed greeting "Greetings from Home / Walton N.Y." identifies the village of Walton in Delaware County, New York, a Delaware River valley community known in this era for its dairy farms and railroad connections. Cards of this die-cut, deeply embossed style were popular inexpensive greetings in the early 20th century.
