A bouquet of purple violets or pansies with green leaves and slender gilded sprigs fills a scrolling gold border on a pale ground. A purple, scroll-textured border frames the floral design. The card carried a short family note from Walton, NY, to Pepacton, NY, in 1910, thanking the recipients for a parcel and wishing them well. Embossed floral greetings of this kind were widely sold in the early 1900s for birthdays, holidays, and everyday correspondence.
