About this postcard

The card shows the Empire State Building at night, its illuminated upper floors and mast rising above the surrounding New York City skyline, captioned "EMPIRE STATE BUILDING AT NIGHT, NEW YORK CITY." Completed in 1931, the 102-story Art Deco skyscraper on Fifth Avenue was the world's tallest building for nearly four decades and became a symbol of New York. This linen-textured view likely dates from the 1940s.
