About this postcard
Engineering Hall rises behind a lawn, its brick and stone facade capped by a dark hipped roof and two tall red brick chimneys, with a white stone basement level at the base. Bare and yellowing trees frame the view, and a few small figures stand at the arched entrance steps. The University of Illinois straddled Urbana and Champaign, and its engineering college drew students from across the Midwest in the early 1900s. The sender's note to Edna in Springport, Michigan, is family business: a little horse got for a child named Bobby, stamps promised, and a visit from Minna expected soon.
