About this postcard
A line of visitors, several on horseback, files across the snowfield and into the mouth of an ice cave in Paradise Glacier, with the blue-white ice walls arching overhead. Paradise Glacier on the south slope of Mount Rainier was a popular guided excursion from Paradise Inn in the early twentieth century, when ice caves formed at the glacier's terminus and parties went in on foot and horseback. The glacier has since retreated substantially, and the caves shown here no longer exist in this form.
