About this postcard
A rustic wooden entrance gate with a heavy timber lintel spans the road into a grove of towering coast redwoods; an American flag and a second flag fly from a pole beside the gate, and a small green ticket or check booth stands at the left behind a low rail fence. The card names the spot as the entrance to Big Trees Park in Santa Cruz County, a redwood resort grove in the Santa Cruz Mountains near Felton that drew tourists to see the old-growth coast redwoods. The grove later became part of Henry Cowell Redwoods State Park.
