About this postcard

A man in a dark suit walks along the curving entrance drive of Mount Feake Cemetery, between low stone walls, with a small building set on the rise behind. The winding approach and landscaped grounds reflect the rural cemetery style of the nineteenth century, when burial grounds were designed as quiet, parklike retreats rather than crowded churchyards. Mount Feake was established in the 1850s as a landscaped burial ground.
