About this postcard

A white colonnaded casino building with a balustraded roofline and red-and-white striped awnings, with the American flag and a pennant flying above; several open touring automobiles of about 1915 stand on the road in front. The caption names it as the entrance to the Casino at Narragansett Pier, Rhode Island, a fashionable Gilded Age summer resort where the Narragansett Casino, designed by McKim, Mead & White, served as the social center of the season until it burned in 1900 and was rebuilt. The 'Casino Grill Room' sign appears over the left wing of the building.
