A tree-lined drive leads from a stone and iron gateway with ball-topped piers toward a large red-brick building at the Watervliet Arsenal.
Established in 1813 on the west bank of the Hudson River just north of Troy, the arsenal is the oldest continuously operating U.S. Army arsenal and long served as the Army's principal manufacturer of cannon and heavy ordnance. The brick building at the end of the drive is part of the arsenal's shop and storehouse complex.

am so busy all the
time. My Mother is in
Schenectady this week
with my brother. We
are having nice weather
here now. Love to all
Uncle Phillips
