About this postcard

Two stacked views show the former Erie Canal corridor in Cincinnati, Ohio, looking east from Plum Street. The upper view depicts the canal with bridges and industrial buildings, while the lower view shows the same route after it became Central Parkway Boulevard, lined with trees and automobile traffic. The canal through downtown Cincinnati was replaced by Central Parkway, a landscaped boulevard built along the old Miami and Erie Canal route and opened in the late 1920s.
