A robed woman stands on a rough stone pedestal in the foreground, with a stone memorial church behind her, its tall spire and large arched window rising above the park. The statue is the Evangeline figure at Grand Pré, the Acadian settlement memorialized in Longfellow's poem. The park and church commemorate the Acadian deportation of 1755, and the site became a place of memory for Acadian communities in the early twentieth century.
Sepia-toned print; printed caption "MEMORIAL PARK, GRAND PRE, N.S." runs along the lower left edge. Dark damage/tear at the upper left corner and a smudge at lower left.
No postmark. Unused divided-back card; AZO stamp box with squares in corners, 'MADE IN CANADA' imprint; light pencil dealer mark ("Rmc54—") at top edge. No message or address written.
