About this postcard

A spring spills over dark rock in a wooded setting, the falling water caught as a white streak at the center of the frame. The printed caption names it Falling Spring at Hot Springs, Virginia. Hot Springs, in Bath County, was a mineral-spring resort town in the Allegheny Mountains, and the springs themselves drew visitors to its hotels and bathhouses. The sender's note refers to "these two pictures," suggesting this view traveled with a companion card.
