Skyline Drive winds along a high ridge above Cañon City, Colorado, with several vintage automobiles stopped or moving along the road. The surrounding hills are rugged and partly wooded, and distant mountains rise beyond the blue sky. The printed caption notes that the road was built by convicts from the penitentiary and identifies the Rainbow Route transcontinental highway in the valley to the right. Skyline Drive was a local showpiece and tourist route, giving motorists a close view of the hogback and the surrounding country.
