About this postcard

Two views are combined on this card: at the top, a waterfall captioned "Fen Fell Falls, Southwest Virginia" pours over a mossy rock ledge into a dark pool; below, a natural stone arch or rock tunnel frames a river gorge where a small figure walks a railed path along the water. A panel at left prints the poem "In Old Virginia," a verse tribute to the mountains, streams, and rural life of the state. The card is a typical linen-texture scenic of the 1930s–40s promoting the mountain scenery of southwestern Virginia.
