About this postcard

A white ferry boat moves across the water in the foreground, with the Château Frontenac and the Citadel rising on the cliff above Québec's lower town. The hotel and fortress form the backdrop to the crossing. The Château Frontenac, built for the Canadian Pacific Railway in the 1890s, and the Citadel on the heights above the St. Lawrence were established landmarks by the time this card was printed. The ferry between Québec and Lévis gave travelers a direct view of the city's skyline.
