A color view of the First Presbyterian Church in Lynchburg, Virginia, dominated by its square stone bell tower, which rises into a pointed spire with corner pinnacles. A gabled facade with a rose window sits above a three-arch entrance porch, with a small stone monument at the left foreground and a leafy tree at the right.
The congregation was organized in the early nineteenth century and built this Romanesque sanctuary on Court Street in the 1890s, one of several downtown Lynchburg churches clustered within a few blocks of one another.
