First Universalist Church, Lynn, Massachusetts, circa 1905

Card type
Printed photo

About this postcard

A halftone view of the First Universalist Church of Lynn, Massachusetts, showing a rough-stone Romanesque auditorium church with a tall square clock tower and pyramidal roof, set behind a low wall and trees. The card pairs the church view with a printed greeting, a decorative cross-and-scroll ornament, and a handwritten note about a church fair. Lynn, an industrial shoe-manufacturing city north of Boston, supported a number of congregations whose Universalist society erected this substantial stone church in the late nineteenth century.
