About this postcard
A tinted view of a small fishing harbor: rowboats and a red-bottomed boat drawn up on a pebbly beach with figures working around them, a two-masted sailing vessel moored alongside a stone quay stacked with barrels and crates, and tall stone-and-red-brick buildings with steep roofs lining the waterfront. A long pier and a small sailboat close the middle distance, with pale hills rising behind the town. The scene is rendered in the soft, hand-tinted manner of early twentieth-century British topographical picture postcards, likely after a painter's original.
