About this postcard
A large, flat-roofed exhibition hall with a stepped, vertically ribbed facade in yellow and dark shadow, with visitors strolling on the plaza before it; the printed caption names it the Ford Building Exhibit at the Chicago World's Fair. The Ford Building was the centerpiece of the Ford Motor Company's exhibit at A Century of Progress International Exposition, held on the lakefront in Chicago in 1933 and 1934, and its streamlined moderne design housed displays of Ford's manufacturing and transportation history. The fair's slogan celebrated a century of scientific and industrial progress since Chicago's founding in 1833.
