About this subject

A black-and-white view of a formal terraced garden: a long run of stone steps and balustrades rises to a row of six pedimented niches, each holding a classical statue, set against a tall clipped hedge. Behind the hedge, dense shrubbery and a skyline of tall cypress and conifer trees fill the upper half of the frame, with a lawn and small palm-like planting in the foreground.
