About this postcard

A tiered fountain topped by a figure rises from the duck pond at Newell Park near East Liverpool, Ohio. White bridges and fencing edge the water, strings of lights hang above the grounds, and mature trees and a low hill close the background. The setting reflects the early-20th-century fashion for landscaped public parks with electric-light displays. East Liverpool was a pottery center, and the park gave nearby Ohio River communities a landscaped place for outings.
