About this postcard
A multi-tiered fountain topped by a bronze figure rises among trees in University Park, with a tall tan-brick office tower — the Indianapolis Chamber of Commerce Building — filling the background. The fountain is the Depew Memorial Fountain, sculpted by Alexander Stirling Calder and dedicated in 1919 in what is now the Indiana World War Memorial Plaza. The Chamber of Commerce Building, a 1920s skyscraper on North Meridian Street, stood beside the plaza until it was demolished in the 1970s.
