A tall fountain sprays into a circular pool ringed by a low iron fence in a tree-shaded park. A single figure in a hat stands on the curving walk beside the pool, with flower beds, lawn and a bench visible around it.
Miller Park gave Lynchburg residents a shaded place for Sunday walks and summer afternoons, and its fountain made a natural landmark and gathering point. The card carries a short family greeting to a young woman in Richmond, signed by a grandmother who wrote that she loved her "just the same" and closed with love from "Grandpa & Miss Fannie."
