About this postcard
The view looks down from a bluff toward the Free Bridge, a long steel truss with a single arched main span over the wide Arkansas River at Little Rock. Railroad tracks and a small brick building sit in the foreground, and a painted rooftop sign advertises W. L. Siesel & Co., welding and boiler repair works. The bridge was a toll-free wagon crossing linking Little Rock with Argenta, the north-bank settlement that became North Little Rock, and the scene shows the mix of rail lines, river crossing, and small industry along the waterfront.
