Giant breaker on the Pacific, Santa Cruz, CA, circa 1930

About this postcard

A large Pacific wave explodes against the rocks below Cliff Drive in Santa Cruz, throwing spray high above the shoreline. The sky is colored by sunset or sunrise, and the ocean stretches to the horizon. The rocks along Cliff Drive force the surf into a heavy break, and the route was promoted as one of the most beautiful scenic drives along the California coast.
