A great log, nearly ten feet in diameter and twenty feet long, rides chained on a heavy truck trailer. Its cut end faces the camera, with trees and low buildings behind it under a blue sky. The caption gives the log as 6,980 board feet and notes that thousands like it were being cut from Oregon and Washington forests and hauled by auto truck to mills for high-grade lumber. Heavy truck hauling was becoming common in the Pacific Northwest woods by the 1930s, moving big timber from forest to sawmill.
White border; linen texture; printed caption at top; small spot near right edge.
No postmark. Divided-back C.T. Art-Colortone linen card with white border; publisher imprint Wesley Andrews Co., Portland, Ore. Minor foxing/stain spots; pencil dealer number "#59" at lower right.
