About this postcard

The Golden Gate Bridge spans the water in a distant view, both towers and the full suspension span visible, with hills rising behind the far shore and a small boat crossing the foreground. Completed in 1937, the bridge was still a new landmark when this card was mailed from San Francisco in March 1938. The sender found it beautiful but complained of cold, rainy weather, a common San Francisco contrast.
