A black-and-white view of the Golden Gate Bridge from across the water, its two suspension towers and main span framed by bare branches at the right and evergreens at the left. The Marin hills rise behind the bridge. Completed in 1937, the bridge crosses the Golden Gate strait between San Francisco and Marin County. For nearly three decades it was the longest suspension bridge in the world, and it became a symbol of San Francisco.
White border; black-and-white halftone reproduction; no publisher imprint visible on front; printed caption "The Golden Gate Bridge." No postmark, address, or message; back has printed divided-back headings "CORRESPONDENCE" and "POST CARD / THIS SPACE FOR ADDRESS ONLY," with "PLACE" and an empty one-cent stamp box ("ONE CENT / STAMP / HERE"); no stamp applied. White-bordered black-and-white view card, likely 1940s-50s. Light soiling/toning on cream stock.
