A black-and-white view of the Golden Gate Bridge seen across the water, its two suspension towers and main span framed by bare tree branches at the right and evergreens at the left, with the Marin hills behind. The bridge, which opened to traffic in May 1937, spans the Golden Gate strait connecting San Francisco with Marin County and was long the world's longest suspension bridge. The card's own caption names it simply "The Golden Gate Bridge."
