Color view of the Golden Gate Bridge from a wooded shoreline, with its orange-red suspension towers and cables crossing the strait toward the hilly Marin headlands. Blue water and sky fill the scene beyond the span.
The bridge opened in 1937, connecting San Francisco to Marin County. Its long main span and tall towers made it a celebrated engineering landmark, and the card's printed text calls it the world's largest single span bridge.
Linen-texture stock with visible crosshatch grain; no white border; printed photo credit "PHOTO, REDWOOD EMPIRE ASSN" at lower left.
No postmark. Unused divided-back linen card; printed description of the Golden Gate Bridge; dealer pencil "#59" in lower right. No message or address.
