About this postcard
A view along Government Walk on the government reservation at Hot Springs, Arkansas, looking northeast across a tree-shaded avenue toward large institutional buildings and a spired structure set on the wooded hillside above. The caption names the scene as part of the Hot Springs Reservation, the federally protected thermal-spring lands set aside by Congress in 1832 and later administered as Hot Springs National Park (1921). The grand buildings on the ridge are characteristic of the bathhouse and hospital complex that made the town a national health resort in the early 20th century.
