The Governor's Room at the Iowa State Capitol in Des Moines, with a large ornate desk covered with papers, carved wooden chairs, a patterned carpet, and a chandelier. The printed caption places the room in a suite at the southeast end of the building and notes its handsome furniture and oil paintings of prominent citizens. The capitol had been completed in the 1880s, making it a relatively new landmark when this card was printed.
No white border; color lithograph with red caption; O. series (C.T. American Art).
No postmark, stamp, or handwriting; undivided back with printed caption and 'FOR ADDRESS ONLY'. Faint pencil dealer notation 'JT-11 4.00' at top. Light foxing/toning on cream stock.
