A tinted view of Grant's Tomb, the domed circular mausoleum on Riverside Drive in Manhattan. Cyclists and horse-drawn carriages move along the road in front of the monument. The tomb, designed by John Hemenway Duncan and completed in 1897, holds the remains of General Ulysses S. Grant and his wife Julia Dent Grant. In the early 1900s the drive was a popular route, and the mix of bicycles and carriages in the view shows the everyday traffic of the period.
