About this postcard

Grant's Tomb, the domed classical mausoleum of Ulysses S. Grant and Julia Dent Grant, stands on a terraced plaza in Riverside Park. A few small figures appear on the open pavement, with trees and a flagpole nearby. The memorial had been dedicated in 1897, so in the early 1900s it was still a new landmark in Manhattan and a draw for park visitors.
