The card pictures the Great Mormon Tabernacle, its broad oval roof rising behind trees, with the Sea-Gull Monument's column and fountain in the foreground and the Salt Lake Temple at left. The Tabernacle, completed in 1875, served as a principal Mormon assembly hall and is famous for its acoustics and as home of the Tabernacle Choir. The Sea-Gull Monument commemorates the 1848 "miracle of the gulls," in which seagulls were said to have saved the pioneers' crops from crickets.
White border; linen-textured stock; corners and edges worn; light discoloration at upper left; 55876 printed at lower right.
