About this postcard
A multi-view "Greeting from Salt Lake" card: the large upper view looks east from Liberty Park across its water to the snow-streaked Wasatch Range, with a small cluster of buildings among the trees at the shoreline; a smaller inset below shows the dark silhouette of Antelope Island on the Great Salt Lake at sunset, as seen from Saltair Beach. Liberty Park, laid out in 1882, and the Saltair resort, opened in 1893 on the lake's south shore, were the standard scenic excursions for visitors to Salt Lake City in the postcard era. Antelope Island, the lake's largest island, was then a privately held ranch and is now a state park.
