About this postcard

A mid-century pictorial map of Kansas titled "Greetings from KANSAS," with the state outlined and filled with small drawings of its products, industries, and landmarks. Icons include hogs, cattle, wheat, corn, sugar beets, oil derricks, a flour sack, airplanes, a printing press, and a buffalo, alongside labeled towns such as Topeka (marked with a red star as capital), Dodge City, Wichita, Abilene, and the Eisenhower Memorial. The state bird (meadowlark) and state flower (sunflower) are drawn at the lower corners, and the map notes the geographic center of the U.S. and the site of the last Indian raid on Kansas soil, 1878. Such large-letter greeting cards were popular souvenirs from the 1930s through the 1950s.
